Having started her career in public practice, specialising in taxation, Jo is a seasoned professional, with over 20 years predominantly in the role of CFO / Finance Director within various commercial environments. Her strong skill set involves analyzing accounts, recognizing cost saving potential, managing teams of finance professionals and implementing change from a finance perspective across all areas within the organization.
Jo has extensive experience with the implementation of policies and procedures for the finance function and can manage whole process of monthly management reporting, from data entry to final accounts, preparation of financial statements and all other finance functions and has worked in Australia, Asia, UAE and the UK.
Jo is both a qualified teacher and CPA and the combination of these skills allow the easy transition of knowledge to those financially oriented or those with little financial knowledge. Having worked in Mining and Oil and Gas for the last 18 years, her experience prior to that has been in various established commercial Companies.
Prior to TORTOISE GROUP, Sabine served several businesses in the HR and Finance functions within Australia. Her proven skills in partnering and supporting business owners over the last 20 years has enabled Sabine's progression through the leadership ranks in both the private and non-for-profit sectors.
Being also fluent in German, Sabine has extensive experience working in Germany in both an account executive and advertising capacity.
Also being formally trained in accounting, as well as HR, Sabine worked as the Financial Accountant for an Australian construction company before becoming the Finance Manager at a prestigious Girls’ school in Queensland. This was the first time Sabine implemented the entire HR and Accounting functions, working with business leaders in an unionised environment, to successfully deliver innovative change by effectively engaging teams.
Her expertise is in helping leaders, teams, executives and organisations to improve personal excellence, team effectiveness and organisational success.
Sabine’s commitment to human resources and continuous improvement has led to the health industry and mining industries, creating effective HR functions and continues to provide specialist expertise in industrial relations and employment engagement as well as Work Health and Safety management.
